audio crapped out

turn on the car this morning, and i heard a high pitch sound

after that the audio sounded distorted, no matter what volume
try radio and cd player, all sounded the same

i guess it's a trip to the dealer

interesting... because I had similar problem recently
my two rear speakers kept making noise yesterday even the car was turned off without inserting the keyfob ( I dont have the convenient access).
I had to disconnect the battery to eliminate the annoying sounds....
then I connect the battery again, the noise disappeared.
If the problem showed up again, I should go to the dealer....

I had the same problem with my 328i. really loud static noise from the rear speaker.. Brought it in to the dealer but they couldn't find anything wrong. They suggested to bring it in immediately when it happens!
