corrosion of rear screen heating elements
Has anyone else experienced corrosion of the rear screen heating elements?
I have a 2007 E91. Never has the rear screen been damaged yet there are parts of the rear screen heating tracks where the metallic elements are just simply missing. When looking from the exterior, the tracks appear much darker where the metallic part of the element is missing. I'm considering this to be a warranty item, but guess there will be suggestion that I have somehow damaged the track. would like to gauge if this is a common issue Thanks in advance. |

Are you suggesting that this is causing elements of the screen not to work?
My rear screen does have missing elements i.e. not all the "lines" are totally joined up. I recall on previous cars (not BMW) the rear screen elements being used as the AM aerial/antenna and wonder whether this is possibly the reason . Difficult to describe which bits are missing but all my horizontal elements do work to clear the screen of mist. Might be worth comparing with another e9x Tony
