Ride quality of H&R race springs?
How big of a difference is the ride quality? Can you feel more bumps on the road? Better or worse? Thanks!

H&R race is considerably more stiff than stock and you definetely need upgraded shocks. But personally I think the H&R sports perform better with aftermarket shocks VS. the race versions.

So if i do get them, then for sure i need to buy shocks then right. And you mean after market shocks too right? Thanks for chiming in!

you definitely need aftermarket dampers and the ride will be noticeably rougher than stock. there's no way around it since you will be going to a stiffer spring and firmer damping to match

Ride quality is all based on preference given good suspension components.
Based on my experience, as long as you use quality components, the ride will be more stiff but it will not necessarily be rough. Even with the H&R race and a pair of decent aftermarket shocks, the ride will be stiff but not uncomfortable. |

If you have the money to spend on springs + shocks, I would save a bit more and just do coilovers. My recommendation? Bilstein PSS10 coilovers or FK Silverline X. I can post a couple pictures of my car if you like, so you can get an idea.

Personally I never recommend the H&R race springs especially with OEM shocks. Depending on the road you are driving - you'll have lots of bumpsteer and your shock valving won't match up. It will turn into a pretty stiff ride over some time. The H&R race is an agressive drop made for cars on a perfectly paved road like the track, and to be paired up with more agressive shocks.

Bringing this back..I ran H&R race springs on my M3 stock shocks for about 40k miles. Granted the ride was bumpy, the car still handled like a dream. I want to lower my 335i now, but don't want to spend $1,500. It's not going to be a race car, so I just thought about throwing on a set of H&Rs (Sport or Race) with the stock 335i shocks would be ok? Thoughts.
Also, everyone on bimmerforums said that running H&R race with stock shocks couldn't work. Well mine did, and the stance was great. I eventually upgraded to some bilsteins after my stock shocks blew.

you need aftermarket shocks period. possibly a camber kit too. I'm running h&r race springs on my e90 with stock shocks and it sucks. I bottom out over everything and the inner wear on the rear tires is ridiculous.

That's the next thing I wanted to ask. When I ran the race springs and stock shocks on my e36, the camber wear was terrible. I needed to get Turner rear adjustable control arms, and KMAC front camber plates. I didn't know if you needed to get them for the e90s because I haven't really seen anything on that.
