youve got a lemon ... There are people with 60k miles on their 3 series and no problems... some cars are just defective.

Can you be more specific about "turbos acting up?" What exactly is happening that you suspect them to be the problem?

Does anyone have any idea why the turbos seem to be acting up? more so when the temp gauge is at 1/2????
First of all, you seem to have a minor problem wheel alignment would probably fix. Second, how do you know Turbo is not working? Most of the time (more like 80%) you are only running on vacuum, Turbo doing nothing at all. You need a boost gauge, you will verify this that you are under boost not that frequently.
I feel your pain. I know BMW can be a PITA, had tons of issues myself. I am however surprised you think a Honda is shitty. Truth be told, they are really good cars. Maybe not prestigious like BMW but they are noty bad. I have a Toyota too and love it for what it is and what I paid for it. To me, I feel you get a much better deal with a Toyota. You get a lot more for your money. Thats not the point though, I love the way my BMW drives. Its not about money when it comes to the BMW. If it was, I'd never have bought it.

That's the problem right there... if you want a car with no issues, you're best bet is Honda/Acura & Toyota/Lexus. Every BMW my family has owned has had some sort of issue. Reliability is sub-par...that's the trade-off with great performance and driving dynamics.

How about going to BMW Gallery with a warranty claim? They can have a look at the car and see if everything is running according to spec. I've been to the Edmonton BMW dealer about 6-7 times now for claims. My driver side mirror malfunctioning has been "fixed" 3 times now. I have to go in again this month to "fix" it again.

Fun to drive but wow is the reliability ever sketchy. In comparison, my WRX was bullet-proof. Never went in for warranty and it drove like a champ.

+1, my expirience exactly. My 5th BMW, and what I have found is usually each car has its own qwack. No idea WTF BMW can't seem to build completely trouble free cars. Most of the time its one thing in the car that will cause you a lot of grief. You swear you are done with BMTroubleYou. but what happens? You just go back for more each F'ing time, like someone with an addiction for punishment. BMW sure figured out fix for our driving addiction. As long as these cars keep selling the way they do, courtesy of folks like us, BMW will not really give a F#@k about your bitter complaints. The service sucks because you have little choice. Where else are you going to take your car? Next dealership thats almost 2hrs away and booked solid for 3 weeks? All you can do is grumble, swallow hard, bendover, drop-em and await whats coming to you. And dealer knows that too. IMO 6-7 warranty claims on a new car is an F in my books.

My car has 18K miles on it. Its been completely trouble free last 3K miles knock on wood that continues. Its been in the shop for various issues 13 freakin times. First 15K miles were shear hell. It got so bad, I was offered a buyback, but the terms sucked too, so I kept it. Seems like I can finaly say my troubles are over. At least I am praying thats the case. I have bought 5 BMWs 4 from the same dealer. I got treated so badly with my last one, I went to a new dealer for 335. After 4 new cars, you'd think I qualify for special customer status at a dealer, no! they treated me like someone they don't know or ever seen. Lost a longtime customer, but I am sure they don't care, there are new suckers lining up to buy from the same place every day. thats BMW for you. The car I am refering to with endless tranny issues was an E46 330 that had the infamous GM Steptrnic (click here you will be shocked -endless list and I am not even on it!) go out 3times. Yes that GM in a BMW if you can believe that. I paid for the last tranny swap $6K out of pocket and sold the car. Fuuny thing is I was in love with that car, even with the endless transmission failures.

What I do know is when everything is working, BMW drives like no other. 335 puts an ear to ear silly grin on my face every time I get in and mash the Go-pedal. For that, I am willing to take some punishment no matter how much I scream and holla when things go wrong. And again onces the glemlins get identified and worked out, its a thoroughly satisfying car.

Garage List
2007 BMW 335  [9.00]
I'm on my second BMW. No medium or large warranty issues(knock on wood) ever. Picked up the current car the morning it got off the truck and it has never been back to the dealer for about 2 years.

I have a complete lack of trust in the closest BMW dealership for their service department. I am learning to fix and maintain the little things myself (lights, fluids, etc.) and use an independent shop that is close to home for any major maintenance and/or repairs. I laugh each time I see a BMW commercial and they mention the free maintenance, since I wouldn't let their closest service department ever touch my car.

Hopefully things will get better. Vase is right about getting a real balace of the wheels (road force balancing) and I am sure you could diagnose and fix the gas door yourself.

You see, every problem you are likely to expirience at any point is likely been expirienced already by someone on this forum. The search kind of sucks, but if you really try, you will find a ton of info on here.

I feel your pain and really hate to be the bearer of bad news. I suspect I know what you are about to go through. I kind of know what you are describing, and if it turns out to be similar in ways to what happened to me, its ugly. And they will never diagnose it either. In my case, the resulted to stripning the car's internal trim, taking out CCC, I drive, Amplifier really the works and replacing them all. It was a 3 week job. They never figured what the issue was. I hope I am wrong on this one, but if I am not, take a look at this post I made back in 2007.... I sound just like you. But unlike you, I endured 5 months of hell where the car was barely usable..
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...8&postcount=41
The troubles I had were not only this but others too. Anyways it starts with a mysterous sound that just gets worse and worse over time. They will tell you everyting under the sun. Oh its electrical interference, its this its that, but they are unbale to fix it. Meantime it gets louder and worse and worse over time. in the end it becomes too bad to ignore even by the dealer. And yes the car runs like crap when cold and behaves inconsistent when warm had that too. They traced that to software issue so you might want to request latest 32.x update. Fixed that for me. The electronics (thats what is making the weird sound you hear) is whole different animal. Almost impossible to diagnose properly. Its a hit and miss game. Bring your patience.

Best of luck man. Just be careful with the stickers though. Check with a lawyer they might be able to do something against you legally for libel, so be careful.
