47et Winter Wheels, What Spacers Are Needed??
Im looking at a set of OEM BMW wheels off an older 3 series with winter tires mounted on them. Only problem with them is theyre a 47 offset. I know I'll need to run spacers on them, just wondering how big of a spacer I actually have to go with...
I've been thinking about getting 10mm spacers for my stock 230s, would these be enough? or will I have to go 15mm with the winters? thanks in advance |

I'm fairly certain the wheels you're inquiring about are either 8" wide or 7" wide. If they are 7" wide, I would suggest at least a 20mm spacer if not ideally a 30mm spacer to bring them somewhat flush with your fenders. If it is a 8" wheel, I suggest at least a 15mm spacer or if available a 18mm spacer. Offset is relative to width, so let us know what width your wheels are.

so the 10s wont work eh? Guess Im in the market for a set of 15s with bolts
Another question just came to mind... will running these have any ill effects on the car considering that it came with a staggered set up and I wont be running staggered |

The point of staggered is to provide a larger contact patch at the rear and reduce oversteer in RWD cars. This is why FWD and AWD cars aren't typically staggered as they naturally understeer and wider rears would make it worse.

I'm looking at something similar. Are spacers absolutely necessary to provide clearance on the suspension side going when placing e46 wheels on the e90?
Anyone have any experience running e46 17x8's as a winter set on their e90? Thanks! |

OEM e9x are ET34 in that size, so you will need at least 13mm spacer to match the OEM wheels, so I say go for 15mm spacers.
