Oil change
Had oil change, but i dont think they changed the filter.
Years ago when i did my own oil changes on older cars the oil looked ''clean'' for a good 3k. I checked my oil 2 miles down the road from dealer and its dark already?!

I always ask for the same guy at the $tealer and always ask for any bits changed to be put in the boot. Some might say this is going to far but I also used to mark up the oil filter before I had confidence in a particular dealer so I could check it was mine put in the boot.

dont u need a special tool/adapter to take the oil filter out on the D. its torqued up pretty tight aint it IIRC
im no techie but oil turns black pretty much after a few turns in the engine? i watched the oil gush out of my car [run in oil change] only after a few thousand miles and it was black as anything. |

Oil in a diesel is black within a couple of minutes. It picks up soot from the cylinders. Nothing to worry about ;-) Only diesel I've seen that keeps its oil pretty clean is a Land Rover Td5 with a centrifugal oil filter - can't understand why they're not more widely used!

The other reason is that most dealers suck the old oil out the top, and never get it all out. Its easier cleaner and cheaper for them. The less they take out, the less they have to put in

Do they still charge for a full 7 litres? That would be fraudulent, wouldn't it?
