Question Vinyl trim wrap question.

Hey guys,

I'm going to be heading to Vigg soon to get my trim wrapped, one quick question. Do they roll your windows down to do any of the wrapping? I'm re-tinting this weekend, should I wait for it to dry first?

I confirmed this with Vigg since I'm getting my tints on this weekend. No window rolling. Are you in the GB for April 26th??

I'm from Manalapan as well.

You don't need to roll the windows down.

Also, I want to add that I wasn't impressed with Viggs window trim. I'm ripping it off when I get a chance and doing it myself. Before they start, maybe try to talk them into wrapping the vinyl around the whole trim, not just the face. It's not that much more work and it'll turn out 100x better.

Good note.

You're the first complaint I have heard so far.

Anyone from the last GB or anyone who did it at Viggs had any problems?

oh, and why are you not satisfied? Is it peeling off or something? got pictures?

Thanks

+1 on that testimony.

I'm not impressed with the work they did either. What WCM3 is referring to is that Viggs doesn't wrap the entire trim - they leave the edges exposed. When you're looking at the trim from and angle, you can still see the silver on the edges. I went in expecting the entire trim to be wrapped all around leaving no silver exposed, but that isn't the case at Viggs. They also left a bunch of cuts in it - minor imperfections - but I guess that's their way of getting rid of the bubbles.

I'll take some pics later today and post them up for you tonight to see.

errr..... why no one mentioned this in the other group buy..

I am under the impression that the trims are wrapped...?

I dont want any silver to be exposed...

there is no close-up picture in this picture thread.

I'm not on the group buy, paying the full $120. I can't make that date and my new wheels will be delivered in about 10 days. The trim was the last thing on my car that isn't black, I want to do the whole exterior before wheels come in. I'm going Monday morning, will post some pics after it's done.

The pics would be great man.

Thanks in advance!

PS. what wheels? I'm assuming it's matte black/dark color wheel, since you see to be going for the black out look?

Close up pics (Sorry for the quality, shitty camera phone):

In all fairness, Vigg himself wrapped my passenger side and that turned out ok. Still only the face is wrapped, but none of the issues like on the driver side.

We'll just have to make it a point to have him or whomever does the work wrap the vinyl around the trim.

Good heads up but now I'm nervous...

I ordered 18" Gunmetal V710's, they go very well with the look

I just wrapped my trim and I made sure to wrap it around the entire trim..the reason this guy doesn't do it I'm guessing is b/c it takes a lot of extra effort to wrap all the way around...it fringes and i for one had to use a blow dryer and a credit card to make sure underneath was smooth and got rid of the chrome completely...when its all said and done he basically cutting corners and probably does the job in half the time only problem is that it looks horrible from an angle..take a Sunday and DIY!!!..you can check mine out here... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252294

I agree. I think you might want to save some money and try it yourself. Unless you speak with Viggs and they say they can do the entire thing, I don't think you will come out a happy camper.

White e92, where did you get your vinyl? What size was it? Looks great!

For $120 I don't want no half ass job when I could just DIY for a lot less and it'll be to my standards. Some things I'd rather pay someone with a lot of experience to do to save myself the time. I'd know to leave no chrome showing with 0 experience in vinyl work, it's more common sense I guess.

I told him that he came highly recommended when I made my appointment. I'll definitely bring it up to him on Monday when I go in. It should be done the right way especially considering the amount of business/advertising E90post has done for them.

btw he doesnt wrap the whole thing because it will eventually peel like Scotts (bimmer335i07) did. also you are paying $60; i dont think anyone should be complaining about that, especially since he was nice enough to do it for everyone. also who is looking at the car from that angle? if you look straight on its fine.

had a discussion with John and actually, Alex before I went. They said they could wrapped it around, but they dont recommend, because it would peel off easily, especially under the extreme weather on the east coast.. ok, not extreme enough, but you get my point.

For $60, I dont think anyone should complain and I like how mine turned out. and John was great to work with and the people there were pretty funny, lol, with the vette and the rover jokes, it was funny. lol

hey, fizzle, you know why they're pissed at some bmw guys?

i had a GB last weekend, and out of the 12 guys I brought in, only 1 no show, was that the reason?

oh yea, LikWid paid full price i think. He was not part of our GB.
