That depends on how you drive it. The car will let you know when it needs service...and it actually displays the miles until next oil change on the instrument cluster display briefly upon startup.

Necessary? No.
There are two schools of thought. One is to follow the manual. Clearly the engine will make it past 100k this way. The other is to cut the interval in half, doing an oil change in between the ones the CBS calls for. Often people in this second camp also do a very early oil change at the 1500/2000 mile mark from new. Welcome to the Oil Wars. |
