Vehicle Restricted Area?

Whenever I use the Nav system to guide myself home, I get a message that says "Your destination is in a vehicle restricted area". Anyone know what this means? I live in a residential community and navigation systems on other cars have no issue with my address. Anyone know what this means?

Thanks,
Rich

Do you live near any airforce bases?

I too live in a vehicle restricted area, which translates into two condo towers on fairly large grounds with gated access to the drives.

me also - gated community... which I guess is the "restriction" for vehicles.

I guess you need to park outside the gate and walk home.

Nope. It's not even a gated community. It's just a plain old residential neighborhood.

I get this too. My physical address is not my mailing address...and I think the system does not see the physical address as a normal road. What I mean is, let's say my street address is 123 Timber Dr. But since I live in a townhouse community, my mailing address is 600 Forrest Rd, Unit 123. When I put in the first address, I get vehicle restricted zone. I can't put in the 2nd address at all. This is also a problem with stuff like mapquest. So I got as close as possible on the main road that mapquest does recognize, and used the "Use Current location" feature to set my home address. Now I don't get that annoying vehicle restricted zone thing.

I got that message alot when I was doing my ED. I would typically get this message when I put in an address for places where vehicles were prohibited like restaurants in a courtyard type setting where you can not drive up to their doorstep. Was your home built recently? Maybe the NAV disc contains old info?

My house was built 10 years ago, so it's not that. The address is in the system and it guides me there fine, it just keeps repeating that annoying message :-(
