Let me just start by saying that I usually keep a quick detailer in my car since it is JB and i have the normal dust issue. Normally i use the Mothers California Gold mist and wipe, but i decided to pick up some meguires quick detailer. Let me just say that i will never be using this crap again. First off, it leaves a hazy residue that is very hard to wipe off. Secondly, i gave up on it instantly because to get the haziness out, you have to wipe harder (which i am not about to do).
I just thought i would post this as a warning for any of you QD users like me.

I'm pretty sure this is the case, the Meguiars quick detailer has no such residue that would require you to press harder to clean it. It's a very easy spray on lightly wipe of detailer.

wax has nothing to do with a quick detailer leaving something behind
i've used meg's before to, and i'm not sure why yours is like that. Maybe it's just a slight defect with the one you got |

Could be a couple of things .......
do you have a wax or a sealant on the car? Some of the qd's don't work well with different sealants/waxes. Meguiars......... black bottle or red? Go for the Optimum Gloss Enhancer. .. awesome. ![]() |

I have used the Zaino in the past but the problem with Zaino is that it's a proprietary product in that it seems to work best along side it's own brand name. Water based products will not work well in conjunction with oil based products and will cause a shadow effect that is a major PITA to correct. |

Was you paint hot and sitting out in the sun? I've only seen QD smear and be a pain in the ass on hot paint

I use a quick detailer spray every day to get the bugs off of the front of my car, it works way better than water.
I didn't like the Meguiars either, and I am a big fan of most of their products. The Mother's works much better without the haze.

I have used Meg. Quick Detailer for a long time as well though I found that Mothers was better as it was a thicker consistency (also bundled with their clay package)..

I've never had a problem. I always follow with a separate microfiber. I think it might have something to do with the car being hot, like zaxjax said; I've seen that happen.

my car had been sitting in the garage for over 2 days so the heat isnt the problem.

I wasn't happy with the meg's QD either. I used it as clay lube and it left behind a bunch of residue. I used Poorboys Spray/Wipe to get rid of it.
I'm now considering some Spray&Gloss for a little extra touch after washing, as opposed to as a waterless wash.

Did you use the QD that is in the red bottle or the black? The only reason I ask is I had a client that bought what he thought was QD but it was the interior QD. Both are in a black bottle

I like Zaino Z-6 for QD. As for the Meg's, their products generally seem good. Maybe your QD bottle was subjected to excessive heat or cold at some point? I had a bottle of Z-6 in the trunk that froze one winter and wasn't the same afterward. I had to toss it.
