Real AIT temps.

Real AIT temps from a 30 minute track session. Ambient temps 80-85. So tell me what intercooler is up to the task?

I heard from a birdy that a IC is in production for the N54 with an internal Co2/N2o spray array...

This is exactly what is expected. I produced 152 F on the stock IC on easily on multiple runs. There is an easy solution, upgraded IC!

I need a guarantee these temps will improve.

Money-back.

I had similar results to yours and dropped an average of 38-40 degrees per run when I upgrade mine with the Active Autowerke intercooler.

That is an enormous improvement.

kinda off topic maybe, but with 40 degree cooler IC temps, how much power is that.

Or comparing 100* AIT to 150*AIT, what would you say is the power loss there? 15hp? more/less?

This really depends on a lot of things. AIT boost decay, Pressure Drop, etc. Really it all comes down to what you tuner lets you run.

One thing that is a fact, lowering the AITs will keep power a lot longer. The stock IC is simply horrible. It is very inefficient and heat soaks fast. I would strongly suggest getting a new one as one of your first mods.

Check the thread I wrote on AITs and the AA intercooler.

Do you have data from prior to your IC cleaning?

I'm curious if your cleaning had a significant positive impact.

I have plenty of on-track data from the stock IC. I easily get up to and above 200F. If a vendor is willing to guarantee IAT drop during a 20 minute track session, I'll test and post up comparative data.

An IC being effective over a 20 second pull is completely different than an IC being effective over a 20 MINUTE session.

This was post cleaning. I do not have pre-cleaning numbers. I will tell you recovery time was much quicker after cleaning the I/C, however the stock IC is limited.

I agree about track being very different from 20 second pulls, good luck getting that guarantee.
