Banged Out a 167 today..

Did 167mph at Vmax (Bruntingthorpe) today and was very happy indeed. The last two times I was running a DMS map but the car had not been de-limited so would not go past 154mph. Given the point it was hitting 154mph I thought the car may be good for 161-3mph, so to hit a 167mph was fantastic

Lot's of nice cars there including 2 Ferrari 599's, a Lambo Murci, an F430 Scud, 2 F360's, an E60 M5 (who eventually beat me ), 2 M6's, an Ultima GTR, lot's of Porsche's including 911/996/7 Turbo's, GT2's, GT3's, Cayman S's and Ruf's. Also there were a few Audi's including an RS6, many tuned RS4's and an R8. Other's of note were a pair of NSX's, an E90 M3, an M3 CSL, an E46 M3 and a very impressive Evolve tuned 135i.......which was quicker than me

Had a cracking day and enjoyed running against some of the above mentioned cars. I couldn't quite manage to out run the E90 M3, he was faster over 110mph, nor the 135i which would have been very close with the M3. But outran the NSX, an E39 M5 (twice), the E60 M5 (twice, but he beat me the third time when he worked out how launch control worked ), out ran a few of the older Poerche's and easily the 2 Cayman S's. Beat a few other's not mentioned above, but also got to view the rear of quite a few of the above including the 599 (what a soundtrack!!), both M6's (although not by much ) and a few of the 997 Turbo's / GT2's.

Jules.

Well done mate, kept that quiet that you were going. 167mph is very impressive.

I rekon on a longer stretch to 175mph like the DMS 5 series did.

May I ask what the Speedo was reading, did it continue off the clock?

Mine goes off the clock etc but only by what looks like a few mph.

So the E90 m3 pulled away over 110mph? was it manual? What did he hit?

Nice one bud.

Cheers Fandango.

Yep 175mph definitely possible.

Off the clock, but rpm kept pulling.

Didn't check ref the M3 but his launches were good....but interestingly in the run against me he crossed the beam 6 car lengths in front at 160mph, I hit 164mph...

Yeah 175 is a definate mate.

So the speedo needle stopped? what revs did you get upto?

He musta been on the limiter??

Was that at 1.5 miles you hit the 167?

I love the 335d, was a super-car.

You don't miss a trick, yes the M3 hit his limiter so the difference would have been a bit larger with it removed.

I think the speedo needle stopped but I was watching the rev needle as I know it used to stop at about 4100rpm with the speedo needle of the clock. I didn't check the revs over the line but think it was about 4500-4600rpm, so if you take 4100rpm = 154mph and 4550rpm = 167, then I'd say 4900rpm would be about 175 ish. I'd been told previously that the car would slow down at about 160mph then pick up again at about 165 but that wasn't the case at all, it kept pulling at the same regressive rate as it passed the limiter.

The 599's were mental, one of them had been wrapped in a matt black and looked stunning.

Yes it was.

I got a decent if not brilliant launch but he was gone and I wasn't gaining on him. Up to the first bend (125mph before hitting the brakes) he was about 5 car lengths in front, I managed to out drive him around the bend and exited about 6 car lengths in front (at about 80mph), but down the 1.6 miles straight he was gradually catching me and by the time he hit his limiter (at 156mph) he was within 1 car length. so from say 80-155mph the 135i was faster by at least 5 car lengths.

Some video footage against a Tuned B5 S4...I broke early on this run near the end, so the S4 wasn't catching me!....

Have to admit it would be very close between the Evolve 135i and an M3.....

What state of tune had the S4 Just a remap or more? My S4 was running 350bhp with a remap and some other mods. Really crap MPG around 20 if I was lucky but was pretty quick. Mental the way you wasted it and you get 40mpg
