BMW Euro Delivery to CA....Emissions or Import fee?
Hi all,
I am considering buying a 335Ci through the Euro Delivery program, but a friend who has done this before (not through BMW) told me to be careful about getting a car that passes CA emissions standards (smog tests) as well as be careful of the potential red-tape regarding importing into the US. He said sometimes, you need to have a permit for this or pay extra fees. Does anyone have experience with this? Does BMW take care of all of this for the buyer? Thanks for any help! ![]() |

By doing ED you are buying a US spec car, not importing a EU car. There are no different emission issues with them compared to any other BMW you might get at the dealer.
