Looking to upgrade wheels - suggestions

I have a 325 xi with the stock wheels and RFT's. I am looking to upgrade to larger more stylish wheels but am on a budget.

I would rather not spend more than $1000-1500 including wheels. Is this even possible?

I would be selling my current set which has about 2500 miles on them. How much can I expect to get?

I really like the type 195 wheels but I believe they are only a european option. Is this true?

Since I live in the snow belt (Thats why I got the X option) I would need a set of good all season tires. Please offer suggestions.

Anyways... I am looking forward to everone's suggestions. Thanks

there are quite a lot of pictures out there for different type of wheels. My sugestion, take some time and look around the forum till you find something you like. You can get all season tires on just about any wheel i think. Tirerack.com is a good place to start for a few ideas. Other then that look at the wheel section of the forum

you could go 18 inch csl replicas from **********s.com plus tires. Most 18 inch setups are going to run you atleast $1400 or so with rims and tires...

19's are going to be more expensive...

Thanks for the quick replies. I am looking into the **********s.com website. They have some really nice looking wheels for great prices.

A couple of questions though...

In the winter they dump a crapton of salt on the roads. This company is in cali so im sure they dont have to deal with the same stuff. Will these wheels hold up to the harsh environment? I would rather not have to replace them because of quality issues.

Also what is an offset? The space between the rotor and wheel? I am new to this... never bought wheels before...

IMO i think you shouldnt worry about the offset just tell them the type of car you have and they will know if its compatible with your car.... or look all the way up and put the info of the tire that youll get and see for yourself if you need some offset.

i dont think youll have problems with the rims that youll buy here because all of them are import everywhere so for your salt issue i dont think its a problem.

Thanks for all the help. I am looking into the 18 inch CSL's. What size tires go on that rim? Its a 18'' X 8.5'' rim.

Any other good accessory sites for the E90? Im starting to get excited about customizing but I really dont have the money... Its still nice to look though

My car is totally stock so I believe the wheels are 16's. I dont have the sport package either. Should I be concerned with rubbing moving up to larger wheels?

Sorry about all the questions but I really want this to work...

I dont think it should be a problem to go with bigger wheels. You could go up to 20 in. ok i think. That is as long as you know how much you want to lower your car and using the right offset and tire size to prevent rubbing. or you could also roll your fenders just in case it rubs, it might helps.

My seuggestion is look around the forum on what other people are using and then decide on what you want. theres a lot of info, that is why i join the forum in the first place. Im also looking for an upgrade for my wheel.

Drake, the reason I posted this is because I couldn't find anyone with my particular car that had upgraded the wheels. I have a 325 XI NON SPORT.

I really dont think there are many of those around the forum.

I have decided on the 18'' CSL's. I do not plan on lowering my car... Do you think that it will be an issue? I really dont have a disposable income to spend that much on my car... I would just like to get some nice wheels, mabye a slight tint.

What size tires would work with these wheels? The Rim size is 18 X 8.5 all around...

Yes I definetly hate the runflats... I heard about the Big Dig fiasco... That really sucks, especially since you have been dealing with that since like 13 years ago.

Well hopefully I can put this all together and get some nice wheels for my ride
