Unhappy How can I disengage Bluetooth while talking on the phone?

One of the most annoying features that I find in BMW is not being able to disengage Bluetooth while you are talking on the one. The other day I received a call from friend of mine while my wife was in the car. Bluetooth picked up the call and I started talking through it. But at some point during the conversation I want to disengage Bluetooth and transfer the call to handset so that my wife wouldn't hear some details

My previous car 2006 M45 had a button on dash which did exactly what I need. But off course beautifully designed BMW does not have it. I was wondering if there is a way to do this.

Thanks in advance

My iPhone has a button called "audio source" that allows me to switch from Bluetooth to the handset. Granted, I need to find the handset and press a few buttons, but at least the option is there.

Should be an option in your phone. If you have a Blackberry, push the options button, and select 'activate handset'.

I am willing to bet that who ever designed the BMW BT system was a female, they don't want to make it easy for you to switch off BT so they can hear your conversation and how you was cheating on them

I agree with you. I am a software designer/programmer and never seen anything as poorly and badly designed as BMW ‘s electronic gadgets (iDrive and plenty more). I am extremely surprised that BMW designers still have their jobs….

It varies a lot from phone to phone.

You need to do this on your phone, for example on a blackberry you just hit activate handset and it switches over.

I do it every time I want to carry on a conversation after leaving the car.

Doh! I'll try that next time. I've been going to Prefs -> settings -> uncheck Bluetooth!

The iPhone has that option but just in case you don't have it, just don't answer the phone.
