iphone and bluetooth issue please help

I just got a used 2007 E92 with iDrive and can not get the iphone to work with the car....

what seems pretty straight forward does not work for me.

I go through the process and assign password etc and the phone and car appear to be paired. (pic2)

However it does not work and it does not try to get my addressbook and I can not use the phone from the car.

I tried doing the same on a X5 that a friend has and my iphone paired up perfectly.

from the iMenu I noticed on the X5 the Bluetooth had a checkmark next to it.
On my car the Bluetooth does not have a check. (pic1)

Any help is appreciated.

i had a problem like this...i reset the configuration on both the phone and car and tried again and it finally worked. Sorry i can't offer more help than this. good luck.

BMW updates the firmware in the TCUs all the time, there's at least a dozen versions that have been released. Your car is an 07; maybe you need an updated TCU to get full functionality with the iphone.
