JB3 335 Vs. GTO at Gainesville
EDIT: Video in post 7
I met a nice young guy with a dark grey 335i sedan that had a JB3, downpipes, intake, and drag radials on it. He may be a member here but not sure. Good looking car and was running some low 12s. Not to bad. We did get to line up one time for a little fun and I think he was surprised on the outcome. I did have to let out at the 1000ft but it still was a decent run. His 12.2 to my 10.5. I do have a video of the run and will try to post up in the next few days. He did tree me though . . . I must have been a sleep . . . ![]()

Nice times! Gainesville is a pretty quick track, though I haven't been there since the early-mid 90s when I was at UF. Good to see they still have street drags there. Sadly, the street drags in Pomona, CA were shut down a few years ago, and the 1/4 mile track in Carlsbad also closed down. I think there are only a couple of 1/8th mile venues left around here.

Hey there! It was nice to meet you. Your GTO was amazingly quick! It was a pleasure to see your car run. I knew that you'd beat me by quite a lot when we lined up but you're right: I was blown away by how quick you got your launch, when you pulled ahead, and how you had to brake at the very end. Damn!

Here were the results to that night's run. I've been aiming to break into the 11s but ideal conditions didn't exactly come into play as I hoped. Times before I never had traction at Gainesville. Was looking for a lower DA, maybe in the 400 range.
Vehicle Specifications: '08 335i E90 6AT JB3 1.3_8D_REV4 map 9 [I still have stock JB3 board] 275/40R17 Nitto 555Rs @ 24-28 psi DCI, stock intercooler, Riss Racing Catless DPs ~100 octane - Sunoco 260 GT 100 octane, 1/8 tank DA: (167ft elevation, 78 decreasing to 73F air temperature, 30.18inHg, 55F dew point) @7pm (1st run) = +1386ft @8pm (2nd run) = +1120ft @9pm (3rd run) = +1000ft 1st run: 60' 1.882 1/8 7.951 @ 90.76mph 1000 10.296 1/4 12.276 @ 114.22mph *no wheel spin, 1600rpm launch 2nd run: 60' 1.788 1/8 8.009 @ 89.51mph 1000 10.377 1/4 12.361 @ 114.10mph *no wheel spin 2000rpm launch 3rd run: 60' 1.846 1/8 7.938 @ 90.36mph 1000 10.295 1/4 12.281 @ 113.83mph *no wheel spin, 2200rpm launch and immediately flooring pedal before releasing brake I'd definitely like to come out again but just waiting for that cool/dry day in the hot FL.

Here is the rear angle. My buddy has a view from the stands that I still need to get.

I increased the boost on the S/C so once the car is re-tuned, back to the track!
