BMW factory alarm

what does the Bmw factory alarm supposed to do?i tried kickin my car and pushing it but it doesnt go off. whats suppsoed to happen?

what you should try is leave your windows open, lock your car with the key. Then stick your hand into your car and open the door using the latch inside the car as though you were sitting inside it.

Are you sure your car has the alarm? I had assumed that mine did, but after it arrived, I discovered I only had option 5GA (Prep. Anti-Theft Alarm System). The friggin brochure made it sound like the alarm was standard, but it apparently isn't (at least not here in Canada).
