Not worth either, like stated above 1.3 is still beta. Then you have to pay $50 for a code burner to upgrade to the 1.3 true release, not to mention paying for code scans/ a $300 tech tool. I believe procede has a built in code scanner and soon will have built in boost display on dash. Better buy imo. For the record I have a JB3, no money to upgrade to procede ATM

to the OP: I would go with the JB3 1.3 beta if I were you. It's really nice and is improved over the 1.2. Also go ahead and get the chip burner so that you can get the latest updates every few months. |

i am extremely happier with the JB 1.3 over the 1.22
its not even the final version yet but big difference so far. Just get the JB hardware and a chip burner (only $50) which comes with a blank chip anyway. it takes 2 minutes to burn the latest beta version to the chip and connect to the hardware in the ECU. You'll have a big grin on your face

To be honest the boost display is what really excited me, as a good gauge alone is $300. So that puts the JB3 package at around $1200+ for the same features as a procede. And like I said, I own a JB3. Im just trying to help the OP not make the same mistake I did ![]() |

That would be the smart thing to do if you weren't trying to peddle the Procede. |

I don't care what the OP gets. I just let him know what it will cost to upgrade to future maps/scan codes and showed him another option with my opinion on it. I forgot that this wasn't a public forum...oh wait...

JB3 v1.3 is a big improvement, v1.2 is old news.
As Mike said, Order the Jb3 and it will come with v1.3 , you will love, had mine for a few weeks and its just amazing to drive with. I find myself driving my car late at night just for the thrill!

Does the average JB3 or tune owner need the BT cable? Of course not! But its a very powerful tool that extends beyond just deleting codes. Mike |

you dont need the BT tool at all ... is just a cool thing to have. If you run the right map for the octane you will never get a code.

Why is it that every time the JB3 is mentioned here, everyone goes on HIZZY fit about how the procede is better? You need the BT to clear codes, the procede is built in blah blah. Aside from what Mike already pointed out about the BT being more than just a code clearing tool, it is not necessary. Neither is the burner, and it's only $50...
This reminds me of the old East coast, West coast rap battles.. lol Get what you want and be over with it. Back on topic: 1.3 is definitely worth trying even at it's beta stage.

I would recommend that anyone with a tune or flash get the BT cable. Like Mike said, its more than clearing codes. It will let you know if your fuel pump may fail (ie fuel pump soft codes) or other components. I think a tune that deletes codes automatically to be a bad idea - wouldnt you like to know what the problem is and take steps to correct it? the codes are there for a reason - the car is telling you its not happy with something youre doing to it.

You don't need a code scanner, but most people wouldn’t go to a dealership without getting scanned after running a tune. And as of now, I don’t believe Vishnu nor BMS offer a DINAN type warranty on cars running their tunes, so if you have car problems, it’s off to the dealer. The last thing someone needs is having an unrelated car issue being blamed on their tune (Thorshammer Warranty thread). So while you don’t need to scan, it would be stupid not to.
I understand that the average user doesn’t need 90% of the features that come in the BT scanner. Thus leading back to the procede vs JB3 topic, if a person with JB3 just needs codes cleared, why is his only option a $287 tool, when you could have that same simple feature built in by buying a procede. Not only that, it is a lot more convenient, IE: you get stuck in the middle of no where because of a HPFP failure and you need codes cleared, if you don’t have a laptop and BT scanning tool on you, you're getting towed to the dealer with possible codes. I may have been too quick to say that I made a mistake buying a JB3 , as it does offer amazing performance (I still grin whenever I floor it in map 6). But if I knew all the stuff I do now, that I do need a code scanner, chip burner, boost gauge etc, I would definitely have made a different decision back then. Instead, the mistake was not properly reading up on it and jumping the gun on a JB3. |
