Would an 02-08 nav disc work in an 2004 car?

As above really, has the sat nav changed at all between 2004 and 2008?
The disc is from a pre facelift car (Sept 2008) and I am wondering if it will work in a 2004 car.

When you say 2004 car, is it E46 cos if so, then I dont think it will work.

If you have iDrive and not the old 'high' system, then all of the current DVDs will work.

Only problem might be is your iDrive won't get full us of the new features till it gets a firmware update.
