So as some of you may know 07' people cannot get the best of XM in out car. Sirrius says the reciever is not compatable and if you ask BMW they tell you to buy an external xm unit.

Well I have been watching this for sometime as I really want the package for Opie and Anthony. This morning I found this thread:

So I got word from my local dealership that a software fix for this will be out shortly for pre February 08 build idrive vehicles.

I will post more update when this actually happens (hopefully by April/May)

In short he says dealer tells him a software fix will be out that will give us best of xm support.


Does anyone know if there is any truth to this????

I hope so.. I would like to listen to them again as well. Had XM in the last car.

UPDATE.

So I took my car to dealer today to have some things looked at:

1) Brakes where not releasing
2) Handsfree, everyone says they cannot hear me
3) Find out about firmware for Sirius.

Service tech said he had not heard anything about the Sirius upgrade but would call me later in the day.

Around 5pm I talked to him and he said they where doing a major software upgrade on the car that would fix my brakes and restore usability of handfree. He also said that it lists upgrading the sirus unit to allow best of XM.

Im crossing my fingers!! I wont have the car till Monday but I will let everyone know.
