Lexus LFA almost production ready
http://www.motorauthority.com/spy-sh...ngine-bay.html
The supercar that almost wasn’t, and still might not be, the Lexus LF-A, recently underwent a special kind of exhibition in Milan during Fashion Week, and now it has been spotted once again in prototype form ahead of a rumored debut at October's Tokyo Motor Show. The LF-A has been spotted testing on a number of occasions, so it's well past the 'pure concept' stage, but its production future still remains murky at best. The Japanese company's investment in the LF-A at the recent Milan Fashion Week, however, lends credence to the idea that it is in fact going to be built, and this latest prototype features some new elements have never been seen before. First and foremost are the new tail-lamps, which are likely to be the actual production units. Also new is the smoother body and integrated diffusers at the front and rear of the car. If the LF-A does go into production, it is expected to cost more than $200,000 and sport a 5.0L V10 engine rated at over 500hp (373kW). Limited production is also the name of the game, with only about 1,000 units expected unless demand proves high enough to support more. A hybrid variant should also be available, but it’s unknown how much power this version will have or what affect the heavy batteries and extra motor will have on handling and weight. The car's front mid-engine placement, along with a rear-mounted transaxle and rear-mounted radiators, should allow for excellent weight distribution, however. Lexus has billed the concept version of the car as having a top speed in excess of 200mph, and we have no reason to doubt the production version will reach these limits if sold unrestricted. |

We just need somebody to say something along the lines of "it's just a Toyota (or similar)."
I thought this was going to be a mid-engined platform that isn't front midship. I hope they avoid the puffy-cheek look as in all new-gen Toyotas/Lexus.

I doubt it will suffer the fate as the Phaeton. Once magazines state how much they love it (I doubt they ever hated a six-figure car) people are going to notice. You don't spend that much coin for so-so performance.

I am sure that it will have positive reviews too but being a Lexus, it should offer more than good reviews and similar performance to be a contender. How many people are going to buy this vs. for example LP560 or F430?

At $60k less, I could see this car making sense. Competing with the porsche turbo or something. If I had $200k to blow on a car, its not going to be a lexus.

It's been production ready for about 10 years now. I'm sorry, I would never pay 200k for a Lexus. Way to close to Aston territory. If anyone here says they'd take that Lexus over an Aston, then you're lying, and you know it.
Just listen to that: |

I was speaking to a friend that has a Ferrari 599 and he was saying how he wanted to get a F430 Scud. I told him to get something really rare such as a used Maclaren F1 or a Pagani Zonda and he said I was crazy cause they were "too much money". Go figure.

yah, i dont see the draw of a hyper expensive lexus unless it offers something other exotics dont. maybe like bulletproof reliability, but toyota quality is sucking of late. at the very least a handbuilt interior. lexus interior quality is terrible post LS430.

The car is already uncovered on the Lexus website.
It has some "Ferrari" like styling on it.
