should i go for superchips?

Hello everyone,

It has been a while since I've been reading everything about what you guys say about remapping. Unfortunately, here in Romania the only advisable remapper would be Superchips.

Is their map a good choice for my 335d?

Quoted figures: 333hp and 668Nm

the graph is for 314bhp? Not 333bhp.

Not sure if superchips are the problem company or chippedUK.

I think Superchips is a good company but not used them.

Superchips have very good reports.

Try Evolve - http://www.evo-s.co.uk/shop/index.ph...2945_3412_2979

As an alternative, they offer a switch unit which they could probably configure for you and ship directly to you - you then plug it in and email your map to them, they make the relevant changes and it email back to you.

I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work for you.

Its similar to the Superchips bluefin system.

Those figures are flywheel figures.

Andrei, a 335d wont make anywhere near 314bhp at the wheels. More like 270-290bhp at the wheels.

That 314 is a flywheel figure.

Ive seen graphs for 335ds (tuned) from low 300's to 350's at the flywheel.

Not sure mate?

Maybe that was a low powered example. ive been on dyno days where a 335d with the same map as me made 10bhp less and also 20 odd ibs less.

Well to be fair, the graph above is a shambles anyway...

It states 314bhp and yet a 47bhp increase would be in the region of 330bhp (333bhp for example)

The graph clearly shows 333bhp so they have obviously put the wrong 'max' figures in where they have put 314bhp.

In the uk, they usually quote about 330 and say its a fairly conservative map.

If you look at the RPM it tells you why the numbers don't add up so to speak - I checked the same when I had mine mapped. The largest increase across the rev band is 47bhp however the peak power does not increase by the same amount as the differential is lower.

Also, on the graph the step between the lines is 50bhp and the curve is below half way between 300 and 350 therefore less than 320 bhp max, it doesn't show 333 as far as I can tell. :-)

Some do make less power mate.

All depends on how it was made etc and also how it was run-in!

And if you were Superchips Carl, would you choose to showpiece the most broke ass 335D that mankind has ever seen as your test car?

It's not a box in the sense you are thinking mate, it doesn't fit under the bonnet.

It holds the maps and allows you to upload them to your car, exactly as would happen if you took the car to Evolve.

Imran will explain better.

Neo, my Evolve Switch box is on the way, I will be writing a full review in the next week or so if you want to wait and see what its like!!

Carl - yeah I mean why would Superchips choose a car that has basically the WORST figures I have ever seen when stock, and consequently performs like shit when its mapped too...

Surely using a benchmark car that makes say 289, or 284 to begin with and then mapping it up to the usual 350bhp?

Is it just some sort of 'statement' about the whole 'RR testing is bollocks' philosophy?
