BOV or DV?
I'm going to tuning the car once again, I need to know if the OEM plastic DV's are going to be able to hold up once I start raising the boost.. If they are going to be having trouble, I don't wanna risk it so am thinking about getting either a BOV or a set of DV's.... Please comment.

I'd go aftermarket DV for peace of mind, esp since you're thinking about tuning it. I had BOV and noticed turbo lag, plus the novelty of the woosh sound wore off quickly.
I now have Forge DVs and can def notice better throttle response.

Might just get DV's then.. But a friend of mine just told me that the stock ones should hold up fine.. so for now I'm going to take his advice and spend the money elsewhere.

I actually lost a bit of power with forge DV's. Maybe it was install error or incorrect spring. Once I put my stock ones back on I felt a noticeable increase in HP and gained 45 hp on the dyno.

Unless you plan on making crazy power (400+) - stock DVs are just fine.
Kinda like the girlfriend who's good in the sack but ain't all that hot on the outside. You want to upgrade but if it's currently working, why bother unless you're gonna get serious?? |

you have to go for a complete package, kind of a jack of all trades but with an emphasis on looks. how are you going to explain to your family you choose an ugly girl to marry because she's good in bed? remember someday you may want to have kids with the potato head. haha |

Then neither is a forge DV.
The fact is the stock DVs seem to be leaky as a lot have posted. Whether you have a leaky set or not can only really be tested if you remove the stock charge pipe. To dispell rumors, BOVs do not cause any more lag. I have tested a lot of products on this car and just put the STETT Performance charge pipe/Tial BOV. The bottom line is there is no lag at all. The shifts are actually more crisp if anything and the car is equally or more responsive. |

I just kinda roll my eyes and move on everytime somebody claims the BOV causes leg or throttle response to be slower... it is impossible and obviously they just want to scare people away from using BOV's since they don't like them. Just let everyone mod their own car how they want.

Exactly, I think I needed a tighter connection to the rubber charge pipe.
