Cincinnati and surrounding area's summer meet up

I think we should organize a summer meet up for those in the general afformentioned areas. This goes out to anyone willing to come to the selected meet up spot. I would suggest either Cincinnati, Dayton or Columbus. These areas can pull people from Louisville, Ky., Lexington, Ky., Indianapolis, IN., Cincinnati, OH., Dayton, OH., Columbus, OH., and even reaching into Cleveland/Akron area's, and even into PA., if people want to come into this area for the meet up. I am just throwing this out there, I would say anyone who wants to come from whatever area with their Bimmer is welcome.

Dates, place and time? Activities? Sponsors?

I vote for late June or mid July, definitely a Saturday. Let's see how many would be interested.

I hadn't put too much thought into the where? Columbus is cool, Dayton, or Cincy? If it is better for everyone coming from different points then maybe Dayton or Columbus would work best. I asked Rixster about coming, and would love to find some local performance shops and some local performance parts dealers to sort of sponsor it. Having the ability to dyno cars would be great, show new mods for the cars, etc. Ideas are very welcome. Just an event to bring all of the local BMW enthusiasts together to talk, show our cars, and have some fun. Maybe something with BMWCCA (the local Cincy, Columbus Chapter, Dayton Chapter?) I will help to set up some things and organize this...as much as I can do.

Anyone know of any locations in Dayton or Columbus that would work?

Septro, you moving to the midwest? C-Bus? Just coming for a short time?

We really need to get the word out and start getting dates and a location. I was originally thinking sometime towards the end of June or the middle of July, after the 4th. A Saturday would work best.

Cool. We need to come up with a concensus place and date. I am looking for ideas? We do have it narrowed down to Columbus, Dayton and lastly Cincinnati? Most people seem to think either Columbus or Dayton, for proximity reasons for more people. Would it help to post the same question or this idea on some other forums?

I will ask the people who run BMWCCA (our local chapter) and see if they would be willing to help organize this summer meet? Hell, maybe they already have something planned that we can be a part of (I know I am a member but not sure if they would require everyone that attends to be one, but I will check).

Also Rixster and some perfomance shops (Cincy Speed), dealers, etc. It would be great to have a mulitude of people representing many different items, from tint to tune, wheels, tires, vinyl services, exhausts, all sorts of mods and accessories. Maybe even dyno services, etc.? Anyways, no matter what it shapes to be, I am really excited to meet everyone, check out the cars and have some fun! I will get back soon. Thanks.

I am in Pittsburgh, I know, I know, Steeler country, but listen I am very capable of putting our differences asside for a few hours to take part in such a great event. I am game for anything not more than say 3.5 - 4 hours from me. Thanks in advance guys if we can make this happen.

Sweet! I am sure that is totally possible. Not too mention that I grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and grew up a Steelers fan. I am now a Bengals fan, but I will always be a Steelers fan as well. I know, I know, how the hell is that possible? Everyone asks me that, but it is, I usually fight with myself on those gamedays!!

Anyways, thanks I will let you know what we can all come up with, I would love to have a great day and meet all of the local and semi-local people, and have some fun as well!! I am working on getting it all together. Thanks.

We are working on establishing a date and location. Right now we are thinking that the area outside of Dayton, Ohio (North East area outside of Dayton). The Greene? Anyone familiar with this area? It would be great fro anyone coming from Cincy, Dayton, Columbus, Indy, Kentucky, etc. It is not far from C-Bus, so anyone that could come in from PA or Cleveland area, it is about an 1+ hour closer to you than would be Cincy. This area was suggested by RunThis, and is a great idea due to it's proximity and things in that area. I am thinking July 11th, but nothing is set in stone yet? Ideas, thoughts, suggestions? Thanks.
