Price of 335i in South Africa
Did you see what the base price of the 335i is going to be when its released at the end of the year???
R470K ($68.5K for the ppl in the US) without any of the gizmos Add SatNav, sports package, sunroof, etc. and you'll easily be looking at round about R520K That's steep...

I wanted a coupe so badly , the moment I saw the prices my hopes were shattered. If I don't replace my E90 with another sedan , I might go for a Z4 2.0l , but it's probably gonna be another sedan.
I think BMW always prices the coupes that way here to keep it exclusive  |

hi guys, Ordered mine, the 335I comes std with Sat nav. I originally thought that a R470000 base is expensive, till I realized it comes std with sports seats +- R10000, xenon h/l +-R6000, pro nav+- R19000, hi fi upgraded sound +- 5000, so that already takes the price to R430000 and if you take the 33000 pound price tag in the UK which equates to R422000.00 with no sat nav etc its not so bad, even the maintenance plan is an option there which is worth R34000.

Thanks! :-) Where'd you get that from? It was a great read! Probably going to be getting a 325Ci, but only in a year or so.
Edit: Quite Nice. Seems a 335i with an exclusive pack has it all. R471 000 + R21 000 = R 492 000. So for under 1/2 a bar you get a M3 eating (on the reef) machine, packed with nav, sunroof, keyless go, hifi sound (i would spring for the logic 7 though ). It's a pretty good deal! :-) I wonder when they'll be available for test drives. |

just picked up my 335i coupe, ex cape town, live in florida, usa. after test driving the car with nav, decided against it as that second binnacle in the middle of the dashboard just looks wrong (to me, anyway!), and the hump always appeared to disturb my vision - just my opinion. also, i have had poor experiences with oem navigation as it obsoletes fairly quickly. this happened on my porsche and mercedes, so now i use the garmin 360 nuvi, at around $500, i don't care if it obsoletes! enough of that, my coupe came with jet black paint, black dakota leather, premium, sport, steptronic, paddles, comfort, ipod usb - listed at $47 500. a bargain in my mind, the logic 7 stereo is very, very good, and coupled with the usb ipod option is incredible - all of your ipod menu's appear on the radio display! comfort key is fabulous, no need to take the key out of your pocket, simply walk up to the car and get in and push START. i can really get used to this! the motor, well, if your on this forum, you must know all about bmw engines, but this one is a killer, smoothest acceleration i have ever experienced, and my last car had an amg 55 motor. how does this price compare with sa? are your cars optioned in a similar fashion. and yes, there is a long wait for coupes in the usa....

It's a bit of a late reply, but yes, the tax is included...
It's just a fact that I've resigned my self to - cars here are expensive, not just BMW's, and not just the 335i... No sense in arguing / fighting etc. What is nice is that the latest National Credit Act that was passed by our government is making it harder and harder for people to get credit for their purchases - so the dealers are generally willing to make some really good deals to get the cars sold... |
