Anyone use Autocolor Inc. in Madison
Website:
http://www.autocolorwi.com/ Got a dent in the front bumper. Looks like this place specializes in touchup and bumper repairs. Anyone use this place before / opinions? Thanks Last edited by neejkoob; 06-07-2009 at 06:35 PM.. |

yep, great guys over there. I will suggest (not that I probably need to) if you have "touch up" work, spend the money and let them do the full paint instead of their "masking" job which is like 1/2 the price. If its your bumper then I assume you need real paint but I got some chips on my hood touched up and although you can't see them from far away now, when you look up close (especially when the car is freshly washed) they are still pretty visible. Its more my fault than anything, shoulda just ponies up the $ for the real touch up work.

Thanks for the input.
Yeah I got about a six inch scrape and a slight dent in my bumper. Might have to do the full touch up deal. I just want to make sure they are able to color match good. When I had my EVO took it to Kayser Mitsubishi for some body work and it took them three tries after me bitching to get color match acceptable ![]() |

Guys at autocolor are good guys! They are painting a couple of parts for my wife's GTI as we speak and the price is extremely reasonable. They have yet to work on the E92 though.

Update.
Got car back from Autocolor. I am very happy with results. Notice the license plate holes are gone and driver side scrape is gone. Zimbrick east side wanted about $600 to do this job and they recommended the bumper be changed to be 100% perfect due to an indentation = about a $1000 ![]() Autocolor did it for $275 - the 10% discount from their website = $250 ![]() For the price, they can't be beat. Thank god someone made a thread about this. I have a dent from someone kicking while my car was parked downtown, so I believe, and then I have another ding from what looks like a shopping cart ran into it. I've been looking for a reputable shop to do it. Might have to take my car in to them now!

From what I can see, the dent from the kick doesn't seem to need paint. But I'm not so sure about the ding from the shopping cart. Looks like there's a little scuff also.

It's located in the Rear of the Radio Doctor (not the side, thats a VW shop, you gotta go all the way behind on the east side of the building). Kinda a new shop but the owner Rory used to be my guy at Quality Collision on East Wash before they closed. He's good and loves BMW's. He's priced pretty well compared to Kelly Moss or Zimbrick. You let him know Seth August sent you to him and I'll text him I'm sending you his way (whats your name by the way?). |
