New owner of e92 m3!! :) - pics pics pics

Hi everyone,
sorry its taken so long to post the pics! been enjoying the drive too much, also been waiting to get some of the mods done
Really love the DCT gearbox, but it can stutter quite a bit sometimes when you put your foot down from rest. Also it can be really unresponsive when coming out of the junction in second gear. I read that you can solve this problem by doing an update so will have to investigate. I think like everyone says the stock exhausts are quite tame, so will be looking to maybe upgrade along with new rims depending on the finance.
One question i have is the angel eyes flicker when i turn on the ignition even if the lights are off?
would love to hear what you peeps think enjoy!

Welcome to the forum - you'll soon find out that everyone is hungry for pictures, so get some up! Plenty of other M3 owners on here (although a few are at the 'ring at the moment), so you should get some feedback soon

Where in London are you?

It was registered dec 08 and it has 2500 miles on the clock.
Options wise its very standard:-
19inch rims
EDC
DCT
and universal control (whatever that is...)

the list price was 44.5k and as i am paying this all off outright, got it further reduced to 42.5k.... any honest thoughts if this was a good deal??

I would have definitely preferred options such as heated seats, logic7, elec fold wing mirrors, bluetooth and usb connection.... BUT I tricked my desires to think that I will not miss what I hadn't had!

As I am transferring my current plate over to the car, there is a bit of paper work to be done so will prob be picking up the car near the end of next week if dvla will let me!

Here are some questions I would like to ask...
What are your thoughts on the standard speaker system?
What is the general consensus on ex demo cars?
The tyres look quite bold on the car but the salesman insists the brand of tyres on the m3 are 'like that'?

thank you, and look forward to contributing to the forum!
Sounds a bit expensive especcially as you were a cash buyer.

Congratulations!

I think you will find the DVLA need a 'minimum' of seven working days after they get the paperwork. My local DVLA office apparently also now insists on the papers returning to the dealership by post (they used to be able to collect) which adds on another day or two.

I am currently awaiting a transfer (non BMW related, so off topic here) and the DVLA will have had the papers on the 8th May and they are not yet back. Dealer from whom I am buying expects papers back between Tuesday (7 working days) and Friday (10 working days) based on their recent experiences.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. I also agree with Steve thinking that buying out right would have been a bit cheaper.

Welcome!

Nice choice of motor but have to agree with steveA on the price tbh. Surprised an ex-demo doesn't have bluetooth set up on it.

Found this one doing a quick search as a comparison - don't know the mileage but that is pretty academic unless you plan on driving around the world and back.

I'm undecided about the 'Ring' as well lol - how many 'over enthusiastic' types could be there.

I also have no idea why ex-demo car hadnt had more options ticked....
do you think its worth having an HPI check even though its bmw approved? or is that just stuuupid?

Mileage is pretty much academic on a modern engine tbh. Better more miles done on a motorway or long runs than stop and squirt low mileage imo.

Realised now yours is DCT (nice choice) and that's obviously from new a 2.5k option so alters the price a bit. Still probably feel you may have been able to get a bit more off yours, especially in this current climate and being a cash buyer, but as long as you're happy with the overall deal, that's all that matters. Try haggling for some BMW goodies for the M3.

Wouldn't worry about a HPI check on a BMW approved car. If some numpty at the stealers hasn't checked then the repercussions would be interesting to observe!

hehe thanks for the info i will definately try and demand some extras as i still havent paid the full price yet, just the deposit could really do with some rubber mats, not really bothered about cuddly toys or keyrings.... hmmm wonder wot else they can offer me to sweeten the deal?

Demand new tyres. - Seriously. If they look quite bald then maybe they are. I understand the "Cup" type tyres now fitted as standard only last about 5,000 miles.

I'm becoming a tad confused now shall I say. 2.5 k on the clock and you reckon the tyres look bald? Either the sales guy's spiel has a 'ring' of truth to it or that car has been thrashed in it's short life surely. Hmmmm

By BMW goodies I meant things like carbon diffusers etc.
