Simota Video/SoundClips

I did a few runs the other night so you guys could hear the intake.

http://rtechnic.com/intake_clips/intake_01.mov

http://rtechnic.com/intake_clips/intake_02.mov

I did a 3rd of just revving the car with the hood open, but it sounded only like engine noise, you couldnt get a sense for the intake.

enjoy and remember, I have that buy going for them!

I know the camera doesn't capture what the ears do in real life, but it sounds good!

Thanks guys! Yeah, the camera never captures this stuff quite right, but I left the files at a higher quality so it could at least get some sense of the cars new sound.

I did not get it from Bimmian. I am selling these intakes, (thread is in sale section) for $340. Install is very easy (I did it myself, then again, I have installed superchargers and such, so I am not exactly a novice), takes well under an hour with some basic tools (basic tools does require a few torx drivers though )

I have the bimmian one and its basically the same intake. The install is not hard at all as it really just replaces the stock one. This is well worth it for everybody on the fence. Also you cant beat the price so hop onto the RichP group buy and BUY IT.

Maybe the weight-reduction of the $300 from his pocket shaved 1/1000000th off his 0-100 time.

You dont really feel a big difference if at all. It sounds great and the throttle seems a little more responsive. I would get it if I were you as I bet you will not be disappointed.

I just installed my Simota intake bought from Rich...and let me tell ya, the two clips he posted don't do justice to the real thing, very far from it!

The sound you hear in the clips really don't demonstrate much, the real thing sounds very deep and in my opinion..much much louder than stock especially when you give more than 50% throttle.

My bro heard me coming down the street yesterday after I came back from a test drive.....and that's how loud it was....

haha, E46er snooping around..

Its different; but hard for me to say, my E46 had cams and headers when I got the gruppeM, so my car sounded very different overall.

My favorite sounding intake of all time was the JimConforti E36 intake. The Simota is pretty close to that, although not as loud up top.

About the clips: Nothing is going to really capture how the intake sounds, or an exhaust sounds, in person. Leonardo gave a pretty good impression of how it sounds. If you want the somewhat ghetto equivalent, run your car around the block with the front half of the airbox removed (note: possible engine damage if anything gets past that carbon filter!) The simota is similar to that without the reverb that occurs in the mid RPM range.
