JB+ Codes!?

Just wondering those of you with the JB+ how many of you have thrown codes on 75% or lower?? I am considering one but really don't want to be throwing codes or buy a $300 BT tool. Thanks!

If you don't take it out on the track or constantly high revving the engine, it is unlikely that it will throw codes.

I had mine on 100% and only throw codes when I am at the track. It doesn't throw me any code under normal driving conditions.

I've read a few people were throwing codes at the default setting. And thats as high as I would go even though I'm pre 29.2. default still give you like 40 hp and 45 torque doesn't it? Thats plenty. I really just don't want to throw any codes!!

Why would the JB+ ever throw codes at the default setting of 2.75 PSI when the SSTT does not ever throw codes at 3.5 PSI?

What do you mean by throwing codes? Going limp or triggering a hidden detection code? If you're scared of the hidden detection codes and unwilling to buy a BT cable why not run the MIN setting? Still nice 25-30rw gains. With some cars guys need to spend $3000 to get those gains.

It was a thread you were commenting on, I can't find it now. You said even the SSTT has thrown codes. Hidden detection codes I think? Any codes at all I don't want...So the MIN setting is still a 25-30 hp gain? How about torque? Thanks!

Close to the same. If you're that scared, buy the BT tool

I've been running the JB+ @90% for over a month with multiple WOT runs to 150mph without a single code thrown. I'm pre 29.2 and do have the BT tool, scanned the car multiple times and haven't had a single code.

So you have to actually scan it to see if you thrown a code?

Around the same torque. The lower the boost, the lower the risk for a hidden code. We feel +2.75psi is very safe. Other companies sell fixed 3.5psi tunes and feel that is safe. Your mileage may slightly vary, but at least with the JB+ you can dial in say +1.75psi.

Got it for $287 from burger motorsports. As far as the fuel milage goes, depends on your driving. Driving normally in the city I get about 20-24 mpg, but when pushing it 15-16 mpg. And to see the codes you need to connect the BT cable to your car and run the program. You run a quick test, and it shows you the codes if any are present.

Milage stays the same, assuming your driving stays the same.

But with the Jb+ you can tell people you have a 360 hp car that gets 30mpgs on the highway

Agreed. So far with my discovery is that the car only throw codes if WOT for a long period of time.
