Head Unit Recode Needed??

at the weekend I replaced the HU on my 320d SE (standard bmw professional audio). All seems fine, no errors reported and the steering controls work. However when I first set off I had this weird feeling on the accelerator pedal as if something was pushing it back up as I eased my foot off. I don't know if it's just coincidence?

Someone mentioned that a recode was needed by the dealers - does this sound likely to give me this symptom? I guess the obvious answer is to replace the HU but it was a real pain getting all the wires in etc.

After I set off within about 20 seconds it all seems back to normal again. No other problems that I can see. Should I be worried do you think?

Thanks in advance...

Surely that can't be related. That would be madness..

That's what I thought but it just seemed far too coincidental that the next tim I started her up it happened.

It seems to be each time I first start the car it occurs. Just for the first few accelerations. I just thought that it may be an electrical issue that is causing something to be not quite right...?

Any ideas what else it could be if not the HU?

Sure you just aint slid the floor mat up towards the pedals a little whilst messing about inside the car?

Defo not related to a head unit change!

*gets his coat*

I think anyway, it didn't seem any further forward but I pulled it all the way back further than it should be and it hasn't done it since.

I really am not that stupid - I blame the alcohol!
