Anyone have Geo Shield Tint?

I think this is supposed to be a cheaper ceramic alternative to Huber. Please comment if you have on your car. Or if you have experience w/ this tint. THanks

Just got it from tint king. He has been raving about it never heard of it before he mentioned it. I’m assuming your going there because he was pushing that film for everyone when I was there. An x5 and an sti were sold on the geoshield while I was there. All I can say about it is that from the inside looking out it looks a little hazy but I don’t know if that’s from the ceramic or just this film. I did get it pretty dark as well. I can recommend him personally quality wise because I had all my cars done there and anyone I have sent there has been happy with his work. Of course the dot matrix thing is an issue with the e92 but looking at some of the cars at the cars and coffee I think he did a decent job on mine.

^ Thanks for the info man. Thats where I just called. He said he did "10 Geo Shields" on Saturday. I had never heard of this brand so I figured I would ask. Hazy - hmmm.

Are dot matrix tint issues only with the e92 since e90 does not have LED?

i was one of the 10. i got mine dark so i dont know if that had anything to do with the haze or if it was just because it was ceramic. you can tell theres tint when your inside my car its not as clear as the non ceramic, light colored, tint i had on my other cars. but it hasnt fully dried yet so that may have something to do with it. i asked if the film was better than huper and he said its the best he has used. if thats bs or not, idk. i think the dot matrix is more of an issue with the e92 and not so much the e90s. if you do a search on here you can see what it looks like but i dont think its an issue with the e90s. im at work right now but if i remember when i get home ill take some pics and post them.

I've never heard of it either. Huper is about the hardest film there is to apply. I have the 35% all the way around and its crystal clear. The stuffs great and the heat shielding capabilities are awesome. I'm always weary of cheap alternatives. But if you want the best, stick with huper.

the tint guy said this is the best for heat shielding he has seen. i asked for the huper but he convinced me on this geoshield. he is probably the best tinter i have seen in this area so i trust him which maybe is my mistake. but everyone that i have sent to him has been happy with his work. i thought i would give this geoshield a try so we'll see how it works out.

I haven't heard of this "Geo Shield Tint" stuff, but I've heard that Huber Optic is very good. I had an appointment to get the HO installed, but decided against it at the very last minute. Here in California, having tint installed sometimes gives cops a b.s. reason to pull you over - so I decided against it.

Anyway, my 2 cents is that you shouldn't cheap-out when it comes to tint. You get what you pay for. You have a 50k-ish car and I don't think you should take a chance on crappy tint just because you want to save a hundred or two. Good tint is hard to come by and harder to install. Just my personal opinion.

Thats why I went with the Huper tint. At 35%, it has better heat shielding properties than other films, even with much much darker dyes.

Just to clarify. I agree completely with "you get what you pay for." From what I was quoted yesterday: HO $350. Geo Shield $300. So its an additional 50 for the HO. Its not like GEO is cheap. (only 50 less than HO). This is why I was wondering if it is a viable option. If GEO was like 150 or 200. I could understand staying away from a cheap ceramic alternative. But I have no experience with it so thats why I was asking. Thanks for the replies guys

The tint king in MA installed 35% HO last year on my 328 (300 I believe) and I couldn't be happier. He is a true expert at what he does and I refer everyone I know to him.

It looks great but you're probably going to run into problems around MA with the police and/or getting your car inspected.

You guys consider that good work with the way it's all blotchy around the dot matrix? Sorry, but it looks like hell to me.

If you can show me a tint job done over the dot matrix that looks better, I would love to see it.
