H&R Sport Springs on stock 330i
I am thinking about getting my stock 330i lowered with H&R sport springs.
I would like to know whether swapping out springs only will cause premature wear and tear to the stock dampers or not.  The spring installer mentioned that I should get new dampers as well as the springs, but I suspect he is just making a sales pitch. FYI, I was quoted $379 for parts and install plus $20 tax. I got this deal after e-mailing the installer the link of the suspension special by Creative Motorwerks. I figure that alignment will cost me about $100 for the total upgrade cost of about $500. |

He's trying to tell you to do it the right way. By not doing it, premature wear is a fact. Do a search on this forum for lots of threads on this topic.

Headache to buy aftermarket performance shocks to go with aftermarket performance springs?

Did you get only the springs upgraded, or the springs + dampers upgraded? Can you comment on the difference in ride quality from stock 330i to a H&R modded 330i? Also if you only upgraded the springs, are you concerned about the dampers failing? Thanks! |
