Northern Meet 3 - Sunday July 5th
I said I'd sort details for NM3 and want to apologise for not posting anything. Basically been tied up with work and lots of stuf with the band.
Anyway, much as I would like to organise something for July, as suggested, my current weekend commitments are pretty heavy. I'm also struggling to drive to work, never mind for fun, due to a trapped nerve in my left leg that just won't go away. If people want to organise a Northern Meet, that's great. I would hope to be able to resume the mantle of unofficial organiser at some point in the near future. Regards Gav

Sorry to hear that mate, hope it gets better soon and I think it will be a struggle to top the last one without yourself and Ali at the helm.
I guess guys I am not good at organising so I cant be the central point for this, but I can certainly help. Planning routes, pubs, booking lunches etc I can do Matt |

We're planning to have UK8 over one weekend in September, probably, so perhaps August / October may be an idea for n-UK3. (The southern meets are all s-UKs )
I'd happily sort things out whilst Gav's out of action, if I didn't have the problem with my broken leg- once I've got a better idea of recovery, I'll be in a better state of organisation. I hope you have some recovery with your problem as well, Gav. All the best. Viv |

Gav - was looking forward to NM3 so sorry to hear about your predicament. It was a great day out, as a result of some good planning i'm sure.:
So if there is enough demand, I'll volunteer to step in to the breach and organise one for Sunday 12th July (the only spare day I have in July so non negotiable I'm afraid). I reckon we need at least 12 e90 posters to make it worthwhile, so allowing for a few dropping out nearer the time if we can get 15 of us on this thread by the end of the May then I'll sort it. (btw, I'm away from this Saturday for a week and not expecting to have chance to see how the response goes until the end of the month) I'd be thinking of meeting near M1 jn 39 and taking in some cracking gatso free roads in the top end of the peak district, the strines and the pennines. Oh, and perhaps a night out in leeds/wakefield (suggestions from Matt perhaps?) So post away if you're up for it, be it a drive, or drive + night out. |

Hmmm, well I can certainly help arrange a top night out in Leeds, food, bars, clubs if required and I can also help get a few hotel rooms booked for those that may need them.
I can also help with the route mapping if you wish. I suspect your referring to Cedar Court hotel at J39? Good idea! Matt |

Aye, I guess I am more looking forward to attending for a full day, and being involved with the arrangements from the start... i kinda came late to the last one and was underprepared with all that happened at the time.

I'm up for it at the moment (date is good) but that can change very quickly.

Right ok, here is a bit of a plan for you.... The 'Original' Aagrah in Shipley to a buffet on Sunday evenings which makes it easy for laymen types like us to arrange a night out... I dont have a special relationship with any restaurants like RockIt did with Omar Kahns, so to get a lot of people all eating in the same place, we should get the bill simplified - hence a buffet is ideal. Shipley is a nice final destination as the roads which lead into it potentially are all very nice, and if we do all rock up at the Aagrah there is lots of free parking. In addition there are some nice pubs in Shipley, especially one or two which have a range of Real Ales and other such drinks of interest... Alternatively, If we head into Leeds for a similar kind of arrangement - there is a place called Spice Quarter who basically do a buffet which features chinese, indian, pizzas freshly made to order etc all in your buffet price. Its a little more expensive, and not quite as nice but it is in Leeds... This would give people access to hotels from £50 a night which are clean and not bad and it would also mean we have access to more bars, clubs etc for those that want them. The fact its a Sunday means that less people will want to go out in the evening though, so it might be worth considering the Shipley option on that merit, with the meal being about 7pm so anyone who wants to head home after will have a good shout of making it back by midnight or whatever (I am thinking of Alan and any potential surprises such as Viv/Tony again or similar) If enough people want to go into Leeds, I will personally lead the charge and book Monday off to ensure that you all have a good night. But if you end up in s trip club, then dont tell the missus it was anything to do with me - its my homing beacon. Matt |

Guys, I just had a great idea - Northern Meet 3 can be tied in with the Croft BMW day which is on the (Monday) 6th July...
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264396 This is a great opportunity to get some of the Southern Lads at our meet, and it means we can go out for some 'light' refreshments on the Sunday night. It also increases our scope for both hotels and nights out - we could look at Harrogate, Wetherby, Ripon etc now. Course, it could take some organising but with two of us on the case it might be possible... Matt |

Well its a good start mate, lets leave this thread to do what it wants to, and get yourself a new one opened with a request for sticky.
Then we will see the true numbers. It might be worth contacting Nick about his Croft meet to see what he is like for remaining numbers etc... I doubt we will get loads, but with a sticky and a positive title you never know.. Matt |
