is this normal..?

today i was driving to my girls house from work. i was bored so me and some dood in a VW gti buck it. we probably hit like 120 for like 2 mins. then we get on another freeway and start buckin it and i noticed my car hit 250 on the temp gauage. it has never been that high b4 so i slowed down to let it cool off. is that normal, was my car about to go into limp mode for overheating? if thats the case damn this car really sucks

Idk about you guys but I almost always run around at 250......

Maybe it's because I live you here in sunny so-cal, but that's about average for me, even on cool days and nights...

In AZ, its not uncommon to hit 260 or 270, car hasn't limped for being too hot yet.

250 is fine. I ran 250 regularly before getting the VK Oil Cooler. I think limp mode hits at 307? correct me if I'm wrong someone? yea these cars run super hot :-/
