Cool What would you do?

Hi guys,

Need some of your advice / thoughts.

I tend to change cars each year, and my 08 E92 Msport 335 is now close to a year old. Done just under 4K miles and I am looking in to get a 635d or 650.

Any of you had any experience with these and what are your thoughts? Stealers said they would give me 30K for mines.....(which is fully kitted out btw)

I'd be looking for a 08 - 09 low mileage one, similar spec as mine with a view to changing at about 7.5 - 10K. Yes, and thats also for 650.

Good deal? What would you do?

Thanks for the comments so far folks.

Carlos - why'd you say 5liter? I have started to err towards 3.5d as better fuel efficiency and not so bad BHP, yes, its a step down from a 335 petrol.....PS - I've not test driven either but will do soon - next week or so.

37K miles and an 06 is too old....I'd prefer the M6 - but can't afford it, and wont settle on an 'older' model.

Mr Pickles spec is:

E92 M-sport
Auto
PDC (front & rear)
Seat heating
USB port
Tinted rear windows
Connected Drive
SatNav Professional
Beige Dakota Leather
Black Sapphire
19"M Alloys
Folding Mirrors (with light sensitive function)

I guess only obvious ones I don't have is DAB or Logic7....

Because the 335d is a a top of the rage 3 series, a 650 is a top of the range 6 series.

Go for the 650, somehow 635d does not ring right, and i cant see why its in the line up myself.

the 635d u posted is good id go for that proper GT, apart from the fact its diesel with the added sound proofing, comfort and luxury of the 6 its got to be a winner

06 and 37k is old to be fair

650 drinks petrol and is hardly worth it just for that v8 sound...

30k is very strong money for your car i'd bite there arm off, is this against one of the other cars with no discount on that.

635d prob 50% better fuel economy than the 650 and prob suits the character (fast cruiser GT car) of the car just as well.

Carlos - I see your point. As mrpickes says, its a guzzler, and at least the 635d - will also be lower co2 emissions hence road tax. Hm....

Did think about the E92 M3, but mines has to be black with beige interior and have DCT gearbox. I can't find any used ones in that spec. Also if I ordered new - would cost a fair whack as opposed to the potential 7 /8K I am looking to spend...

Keep in coming guys....

Irn Bru - This is against one of their cars (which is imaginary) as it just sold - a 650, 08plate, black / beige, but had silver trim.

I know the guys well as I go in every year. Hence they don't treat me badly....I'm sure I can get some discount too if I pushed / freebies.

There is a lot of nice metal out there for the kind of cash they want for the 635d - I know it's not a BMW but this is quite nice

in terms of performance, 650 all the way, its in a different league compared to the 635.

Cant beat a V8.

Joyrida is right, the 650 is miles quicker than the 635d, and you can get 25mpg out of a650. Couple with the fact i manage only 25mpg in my lighter 335d lol.

a 335 is quicker than the 650 but the 35d engine in the heavy 6er is prob not gonna set the world alight.

is it????

What happened to the 335i and M3?

OP, I have driven the 635D and it was a great car - only thing I found was that the back end was VERY twitchy on the wet roads I drove it on - the orange traction light never seemed to stop flashing with even moderate driving.

Mate? what you on, i was talking about the 335d, but yes the 335i and m3 are also top of the range which is obvious

The 335i/335d/M3 are all close

The 650/635d, 650 all day long.

Hi

37k was the price you can get them with 10k miles on and interior wise they are soooooo much nicer than the stadard 6 series (650 inc) I honestly dont think youd be 'settling' for anything.

Go sit in one and seefor yourself.

However if the M is a no go id say the 650 like carl suggests, as itll sound glorious. Ive had a 335d and even though it was fast it was soooooooo boring so you must buy the V8

He's looking for a Conti GT or DB9 - I would try my luck and lowball his advertised price definitely
