[Help]Pairing a Nokia 5800 with i-Drive Bluetooth
Hi,
I've recently bought both Nokia 5800 and An 11/2005 BMW 320d E91 with i-Drive I've paired the phone using a 16 digit code (like say in manual for OBEX transfers) and using a 4 digit code... and at first it seems all Ok... i see my phone name on the display... and the network signal... when i try to phone someone... the network sign starts flashing... and the connection end.. i start to ear the music on speakers and have to turn the phone's mic on to be able to talk... and after that the phone doesent pairs with the car! it happend all the time... i can't have a full journey with the phone paired with the i-Drive.. does anyone know how to fix this?? I am having exactly the same problem, car(E90 with I-drive) pairs with the phone (Nokia 5800) but after about 2-3 mins the connection is lost and the olny way to get it back is to start a fresh.
My old work phone works fine but the 5800 won't work !!! |

I took my car to the dealer today for a service, they said that the phone is not supported and they have not upgraded the firmware (main screen is still brown) but now the phone works much better (!) no contacts yet but I havn't tried the Nokia 810 sis file trick yet. Fingers crossed.

I also would like hear the news about this thread… because I am planning to buy that phone. I currently use Nokia 6267 without any kind problems (it pairs flawless, network signal and the contacts are transfer to the monitor) in both of my cars BMW E90 (2005) and BMW E92 (2008) both with Idrive.

I have tried a few nokia phones and had the same problem. There is a trick.... you need to disable Nokia Sync and your connection will be maintained. Go to settings > Connectivity > Sync > PC Suite > Edit Sync Profile > Connection Settings > Allow Sync Requests > "No"
I haven't been able to get it to work with Remote Sim though, so I cannot see contacts on I-drive. This is with a 6120 and 6110 Nav by the way. |
