Word of Caution with the RD Angel Eyes

I was working on a E90 car this weekend and saw that they had the RD Angel eyes installed.

When taking apart the headlight i noticed that the tips of the angel eyes were MELTED a bit dut to excessive heat created from the LED and the metal surrounding they have.

So, if you have the RD Angel eyes, you may want to check to see if you angel eyes are melting!

Just to comment on RD, I had the LED kit for my E92 and decided to go back to stock. I put them up for sale and a member asked for pictures so I reinstalled them & the lenses (one on each unit) popped off! I contacted RD & was told "not warranty covered". I think RD has issues with their products!

yea Marc, good to point this out.

I always thought the angel eye tubes were made of glass, or did it melt the glass?

They have a special "spacer" i needed to put in em to create a bit more distance between the leds and the unit. They are brighter without it, but maybe he didn't do that ?

Thx for heads-up anyways, i'll check.

Was this on an E90 LCI headlight or the earlier one?
