free alarm activation

After reading about the alarm activation for DIY alarm installation, I was quoted between 150.00 to 270.00 for activating the alarm by two dealerships.

I called BMW's customer service 1-800-552-3800 for the regional office and it seems that BMW sets aside certain money for dealers to do work for customers. It took some calm reasoning making a point that if I'm paying for the alarm why should I get charged again for having it activated

, but I was able to get to talk to a manager and he was able to contact a dealership to do the activation for free as a good will gesture. Have to request a manager, the customer rep. will not have the authority.

Thanks for the guy who posted the pics on how to do the alarm installation, so I'm trying to give back here.

that's ridiculous. how they would charge 3 digits just for alarm activation... i mean comon man the alarm itsself cost soo much already.

alarm activation is free as long as your car requires a software update...
