Tire/Wheel Insurance
Glad I got them.
Had a flat passenger rear, and got it replaced new for free. I thought the dealer would just do a patch up, but surprisingly they actually got me a new one. ![]() Is patching not possible on RFTs? |

When I purchased the tire/wheel insurance for my car, I was told the RFT's are generally not repairable, so in most cases you will get a new tire.

I have gone through at least 7 tires due to bubbles.... and have a screw and bubble currently... ZSP
For me, tire insurance has been more than worth it.... $595 out of pocket (in 2006)... has covered ~$2,500 in tires.. on the contrary for my girls R32, $800 for tire wheel protection (INT.I.R.E) and it has taken 40 days...to date... I have yet to be reembursed for first use of insurance.. ~Frost

so far it was worth it for $600. But my dealer i bought it from told me i wouldn't have to pay a dime. But being they went through a 3rd party warranty company my dealer only did the Silver package which only covers up to $500 (or something around that amount) per visit so i ended up baying like $30 outta my pocket and then was reimbursed the $500, wasn't to happy about that, now i know if i crack a rim and blow a tire i'll be screwed but i'll make sure i make a big fuss about my CA stating "that both rim and tire were 100% covered"
Even tho my next set of tires are probly gunna be regulars which would void my Road Hazard warranty

Had it for 14k and 2 1/2 years, never used it. Amazing how varied the prices for such a "protection package" are, mine was $390 for 5 years. I fell into the "if I need one tire it'll be worth it" trap. Same thing with the $499 ding/fabric/touch-up protection. If I get 5 dings it'll be worth it. They appeal to our human desire to avert ourselves of risk, even if the price is not commensurate with the benefit.
