Washed car with well water now white streaks all over the car

Not me or my car though.

I already told them to clay it and use water spot remover. Short of polishing it what else can be done to get rid of the minerals?

Try washing it with vinegar. Take a microfiber and spray vinegar on it and wipe it down. It should remove the streaks. You could try quick detailer first. It's hard to tell without pics what exactly happened.

Is it hard water deposits or possibly someone used a towel to dry the car that had been dried with dryer sheets/fabric softener? The latter can leave streaks on your paint.
