Need help getting started with PC7424
I ordered the PC 7424 and then ordered the Lake country pads 6.5 inch from what I remember. The lake country pads came with a backing plate (its got a red velcro thing at one end and the other end has a screw thingie). These having been sitting in the garage because I haven't figured out how to get started using them.
The PC has some metal insert which says - 'Use 5 inch pads only'. Did I order the wrong pads... or can I use the red velcro piece, attach it to the PC and then use that for sticking the Lake country pads?? thanks for the help!!

Its easy.............
Take the PC and turn it upside down. Attach backing plate to the PC by threading the backing plate onto the machine. Once the backing plate is attached apply the foam pads to the backing plate using the velcro attachment. You are ready to polish your vehicle.........use products sparingly so not to fling it everywhere. Dave @ Innovative Detailing |

great, thanks... one more question - how do you clean those pads after polishing? soak in water, throw them in the washing machine, or something else?

I use each pad with only one product. After use I put the used pad in a freezer size ziplock and mark the bag with a sharpie noting the product used. One thing you dont want is to mix products on your pads.
To clean my pads, I generally will spin my pads on my rotary polisher and using a little bit of QD spray my pads and then take a nylon detail brush I clean the pads while they are spinning. Top that off with a swipe of a damp MF across the pad and you are good to go..... Dave @ Innovative Detailing |
