This thread is retarded in so many ways... It has nothing to do with BMW, by the time you ship the device everyone will have 3.0 anyways or can get it if they want it, and the photos are crappy.

This thread's weak, but I guess there's some value in getting the unlock without bricking the phone.

Just remember guys, we current iPhone 3G owners do NOT get the upgrade price. If you're in an existing AT&T contract (which all 3G users are), then you'll be paying full retail ($499 or $599) for the 3GS. The promotion prices are only good for new contracts.

Yes, this means it's cheaper to terminate your contract and sign a new one than buy the 3GS and stick it to your current contract.

AT&T can go suck it.

Just a warning, the OS on the phone is a developer released version of the iPhone OS 3.0 GM seed, it will likely expire at some point and that phone cannot go back to being used with released version of the OS.

This is warning on the developer site:
"Updating devices to iPhone OS 3.0 GM Seed software. This version of iPhone
OS 3.0 should only be deployed on devices dedicated for iPhone OS 3.0 GM
Seed software development. By installing iPhone OS 3.0 GM Seed software
on your Authorized Test Devices, these Devices are permanently “locked”
into testing mode and cannot be restored to an earlier release of iPhone OS.
Bear this in mind before installing the software. "

So unless you know a developer who can keep feeding you updated versions I would be wary... it can be a bit of a pain to remove.
