Rip apart your dash? The sirius unit is in the trunk. Doubt they'd do anything if you brought it in anyway. Most likely some issue with sirius.

Glad I saw this post! I listen to my iPod about 90% of the time, but tried Sirius last night. I was on the highway (no trees or other obstructions) and it would drop out under every overpass. It would spontaneously drop -- just like you described -- for a few seconds fairly often. I was wondering if my receiver was going bad, but it appears there may be a systemic problem.
Anybody else?!?! (I'm in New England...dunno if geography makes a difference.)

This is pure speculation, but I experienced a similar problem with Sirius about a year ago and when I called the customer service line they said there was an issue with one of the broadcast satellites. It took about three days, but it was back up to normal after the issue was resolved.

Same signal problems here. Clear sky, no obstructions, still dropping out. I agree it's probably a broadcast issue as I've had the same issue before. Sometimes it's geographic since I don't think Sirius has any geostationary sats yet (although this may have changed recently). FWIW, I live in eastern North Carolina

A friend of mine and I were talking about this very problem last night. He drives a PT Cruiser with an aftermarket system that has Sirius and is experiencing dropouts and was asking me if I had noticed anything. This past weekend, my wife and I were driving around and also experiencing dropouts.

Same issue, I have built in Sirius in both BMW's and the past 3 days have been horrible. Places where I never ever had a problem before I would get two to three second cut outs constantly.
