Question Anyone going to Goodwood FOS? need few tips

Hi UK forumers. Is anyone going to Goodwood FOS that's in first of week of July? I'm gonna be in London and just realized I might make it there since it's not too far. But I'm wondering:

- are tickets still available and how much they usually cost?
- is it expensive to get there using public transport (not renting car)
- is it actually worth going?

If anyone went or planning to go, any advice is kindly appreciate!

It's a great dat out, especially if the weather is fine, BMW normally have a decent display in the manufacturers area and the F1 boys get to do some burnouts and maybe and few donuts in front of the house, which they can't normally do at a Grand Prix. ( banned ) Go!

Definitely worth going. Tickets must be pre ordered. No tickets on the day. I am not sure but wouldn't expect good public transport to the venue. If driving then get there before 7.30am, earlier the better to miss the queues. Leave late to avoid the same. Be prepared to walk for miles to see everything. Would recommend two days over one. I prefer Friday and Saturday as Sunday gets real busy due to F1 drivers and celebs being around.

I am going there on friday not sat or sun for sure. I contacted them and they are offering the grandstand tickets for around same money you said. I am really thinking of going as I wanna see the rally cars going up the hill and test my DSLR on all that motorsport madness.

Yeah, the weather for sure issue and I will be taking train to the station and than they said there is a bus to goodwood from there. No issues in walking just hope weather is not to shit.

No such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing

Publice transport will be shite. Rent a car wil be cheaper. You shoud be able to rent a super mini for about £30 -50 a day delivered to you. Much cheaper than bus / train / taxi and less hassle.

Goodwood is great - have been there a quite a few times. As stated friday/saterday is the 'least' crowded, however saturday/sunday have most of the air displays & actions on. Don't count on being able to get a hotel anywhere close to Goodwood (that is probably within 30 mls) if you only book now, and there is no major access road - it's all B-roads changed into one-way by police.
Best advise for sunday at least is to arrive early am (7..) and leave or before 4, or after 8)

great show though!

I am sure they will have them available as an optional extra - a tom tom or similar probably - Give me a bit if notice and I will sort it for you.

bmw is the first one up on the goodwood fov sponsor list so they'll be there with a hospitality suite. You (likely) need your key as proof of being a BMW owner, and then you can have your free drink (it's also one of the few places to serve espresso )

cheers,

I go most years, just not this year, in the Dam on a stag.

However being a local, my top tip, is to cut through Boxgrove, which is off the A27, to the east. It will have loads of signs up saying no access - absolute tosh! I go this way every year and you arrive straight into one of the car parks.

Enjoy, its a top weekend, with plenty to see - I always go friday, only because its less busy.
