DMETune Dyno Results Tomorrow or Mon.

The Dyno results from the DMETuned 135i should be posted on Edmunds.com tomorrow or Monday. This is the message I received from Edmunds. I think this tune is going to be a winner!

Thanks for getting in touch with us. These numbers will most likely be posted on Sunday night.

Hopefully they had the car baselined dynoed before the tune and also post those graphs as well.
But without the ability to "take the flash out" and bring the car back to stock, a flash tune other than Dinan's is probably going to be of limited appeal to consumers who value their warranty but want the power of the tune (and the ability to remove it for service) too.

DMETune has a stage1 posted against a baseline at their site.

To be honest, I'd only be interested in trying stage 3 at this point. In order to give it a shot there would need to be a shop within 45 minutes of me that could do it.

I know they mentioned a distribution network is in the works.

I don't doubt it is a great tune, it just needs to be more customer friendly in terms of getting it done (or undone).

Even if it makes 400hp who wants to risk their warranty with a flash that can't be removed at home and is easy for the dealer to notice when you go in? At least with the Vishnu and JB3 they can be removed and the Dinan system comes with a warranty. Even the SSTT and JB+ are easy to remove and make nice gains.

I don't buy that. A flash has many advantages, I don't buy the dealer reading it at all. There is nothing to see.

Really? How about boost at the ODBII port? If BMW sends people to the dealer to look at failures and they have to take pictures as they remove things, you don't think they will take the car for a test drive and look at boost levels via ODBII?

Wanna buy some ocean front property in Malibu for $3.00 a square foot? I have a 10,000 square foot home there I'm willing to part with for cash.

I'm looking at the LET Flash from HP Autowerks, suggest you check out the posts on it. Glad I gave you guys a good laugh which I expected. From the posts I've read the maximum psi is 13, not all the higher numbers I see from the piggybacks. There are ways of programming the ecu where performance is increased by other means then psi.

The results were posted on 1addicts. It went from 285hp stock to 340hp with DMEtune on a dynojet. Around 55hp gain. Like I said before though the dealer can see the actual boost values recorded in the ECU unlike piggybacks that hide the actual boost levels so forget about warranty with it.

Why would the dealer be looking for boost values? What is the upper limit with the stock DME?

Nice read....lets get straight to the point!!!

Here's how it went down. We dynoed the DME Tune configuration first, conducting as many pulls as necessary to achieve a stabilized result

Then Scott from DME Tune reloaded our stock calibration back into our 135i while it sat on the dyno, and the process was repeated.

Same car, same dyno, same day, same fuel, even the same tension in the straps holding the car down. With so many variables removed, we've got a very solid comparison.

As per our standard procedure, these runs are uncorrected for weather as the 135i is turbocharged

Peak power swelled 55 horsepower compared to stock and peak torque jumped up 67 lb-ft.

All of these gains came from remapping spark, fuel, cam timing and boost; all hardware on the car is still stock.

The DME Tune reflash also increases the rev limiter from 6,500 to 7,300 rpm.

I dont know about this one. RPM range is not something I would mess with whithout the head upgrades.

I actually met up with Scott from DME tuning last weekend, he was telling me about this edmunds piece. And from what I understood this is the stage 2 that they have and are actively selling at this time. If i happen to come up on some extra fundage in the near future I might be up for giving this a shot.
