My 7290 works. I'm about to get a used 7100g from the office to try and see if I like it better than the 7290. It should work too.
My 7290 worked fine except for the address book. Last week, I upgraded the 7290 firmware to 4.1.something and now it is completely functional including the addressbook. I've had no problems whatsoever with the blackberry and my e90. Robert

I have 7100g and it works fine. Had to update software so the address book would work. there are other posts here that show where you can get the software and do it yourself.

As tx330i said, you need the version 4.1 software to make the 7290 capable of downloading the addressbook to the car to be able to use voice integration. (Only other option being entering your names/numbers into the car manually).
As morningla said it is also dependant on a policy set at the server by the administrator to allow the downloading of the addressbook (some companies don't want their address data sharable by bluetooth). My experience is that once I got the 4.1 software (which was a challenge through my IT department as they had not released it for users yet), the BB 7290 performs very well with bluetooth integration in the E90. Only caveat might be to make sure that the names you use within your addressbook are unique and plainly pronounceable so that voice command works the best.

Blackberry 8700C on BES running firmware 4.1, works with (3/06 production date no updates). did not transfer phonebook so I limited to "hot list" on black berry and re-paired phone (delte pairing from phone and car). That seems to work I only have about 800 contacts so 1000 limit should not be the issue. Will try re-pairing with the full adress book tommorrow, scheduled for update next tuesday at the dealer

Pearl runs flawlessly. I've never had Bluetooth phone integration in the car so it was definitely a pleasure to step into my car and have my girlfriend talk to me out of thin air

AT&T BB Curve 8300 pairs perfectly with my 335i (Progman 25.02, the s/w update that fixed the broken RTTI).

I've been using a BB since I got the car, and it works and pairs perfectly. Huge thumbs up -- this is one of the best features of the E90. IMO, the quality is better than using the BB as a phone without the car (I never did like holding the BB to my ear).
As people were saying back in 2006 when this thread started, if your address book does not transfer, it's probably because you have old BB firmware installed on the phone. Update it, and it will work great. Probably aren't very many BBs out there with old firmware on them anymore, though, so nothing to worry about.

Maybe you can help me out at the July 14th meet. I can't seem to get my VZ 8703e to work with my 03/07 E92.

I have the Blackberry 8703e with VZ too, phone book downloaded fine w/out any issue but the bluetooth connection keeps dropping out and I have to re-establish the connection over again. Not sure why.

Nextel BB 7520 works great and my entire address book all shows. Phone works great, but the 2-way does not.

For those of you with voice dialing on your blackberry, like the Pearl, can you do that through the car? I can voice dial from the car, but it is only the few that I have specifically "trained" the BMW voice command to do. I'm wondering if any of you can use the BMW's voice command to access the blackberry's voice dialing capabilities.
Sorry if that's confusing. Let me try again. You can program the car to voice dial, but you have to train it by recording the names one at a time. Some of the newer blackberries (and many other brands) have voice dialing where you say the name and it figures out the name automatically. No training required on the phone. I'm wondering if any of you are able to use the phone's voice dialing functionality through the car's voice command integration. Thanks, Robert
