Riss Racing (RR) Midpipes

Two questions for y'all

1. On the e90, I know these run from the downpipe back, and in so doing, they delete the cats, but do they delete the resonator, as well? What I'm really trying to ask is will these bridge the entire gap between my downpipes and my mufflers?

2. What's the deal with the price? Some places list it as $289 - $300 while others have it for $500 plus

The Riss racing midpipes are just section 1 pipes. They go from the downpipes and end where the x-pipe starts. I got my midpipes for $299 from Riss racing but for some reason they decided to raise the price to over $500+ lol

Correct, this is the section one part of the exhaust which bolts from the down pipes to the middle section.

Riss has changed their pricing on this system to $539 for the polished version.

cuz we drive bmws and its assumed that just cuz we do we should pay a premium price for a pipe that probably cost $50 to make. even at $299 they were making a killing. At 500+ its ridiculous. i hope those mid pipes come with some lube

Hey Guys,

The reason for the price increase is the cost to coat these parts has gone up. This is a fully polished system with all necessary hardware included so it's a truly complete option.

What would the expected performance gains be like for these pipes added to say a catback exhaust..or stock exhaust on a 335? Thanks,

Here is a more thorough explanation of the increase in cost. Most of it has to do with the coating and mandrel bending.

We have sold out of the product at the introductory price, and have raised it to retail just as we do any product. The cost to make these is not cheap. It is full mandrel T304SS. For some people that say they can "get these pipes for $50" I highly doubt that. If you made these yourself without a mandrel bender it is roughly $50-$80 dollars a UBEND for T304SS (un polished.) A mandrel bender costs 6 figures+ This is not counting the straight piping, flanges, hardware, welding, slip joints, R&D and initial cost to build the product, and build the JIG, polishing etc....Even at this price it is still very aggressive pricing, and in line with anything else on the market. We have finished the next run of section pipes today, and will be shipping all the orders first thing tomorrow morning. We thank you all for the support!

Gains from the midpipes will be between 8 and 12 RWHP based on Riss dynos.

That's on a stock car. Realize that if you've upgraded your car, you don't want your midpipes to be the bottleneck of the system, creating backpressure right before your free-flowing muffler.

Ultimately, guys, this is a quality, finished product that installs easily and is guaranteed. Hence the price!
If price is that much of a concern, I can definitely try to do a group buy and save you all $100.. How would that work?

You need to cut the stock pipes though right? I don't want to have to do that that..

I wonder if the borla pipes are still around. I think the price hike might drive ppl toward the other 'less pretty' (unpolished) option.

I was considering getting the midpipes, but after they raised the price, I'm definitely not getting them. The price is just ridiculous. Quality? How can I feel it? I can't. I'll leave the midpipe stock for now, if I find it restrictive, I'll just weld in resonators instead of secondary cats - max 100 usd (cats + labour), better sound.
