I know I'm very late in the game but I'm interested in ordering a 2006 325xi. Some of the dealers I've asked tell me production on 2006 models has stopped already, others tell me there are a few allotments about to go into production and they'd have to locate one to modify one to my options. Anyone know the real truth here? I'd had to place an order, put down a deposit, get all exicted, only to hear a week to 2 later that they can't get the 2006 but would love to offer me a 2007 at $1700 more!!!

Both answers are true. Each dealer has their own allocations, so if they haven't used all of their slots yet, they can still squeeze an order in... but even then, I think there's a cut-off date before the full switch to '07 occurs and you won't be able to order a new '06. Not sure when that is exactly.

Well I'll play it by ear. My dealer says he's out of 2006 allocations but knows of a few available and is working on trying to trade one of his 2007 allocations for an existing 2006 for me.
