for US prices, go to www.realoem.com and lookup the part numbers you need, then go to www.getbmwparts.com and put in the part number for discounted prices.

So, what's that come out to if you buy the entire car in parts? a million bucks? sheesh... what a rip off. Just order a new 2jz and do a 1500 whp monster conversion. ^^ -scheherazade |

Go here :
http://www.car-part.com/ Search for parts for a 335. Get a few numbers for places that have 335 parts. Call around, see if they have vanos. You may want to find a diagram on realOEM.com so you can describe it, as the term 'vanos' is proprietary and you'll find that it can be commonly known as something else. If they aren't bmw people, they won't know what to look for if you tell them you need vanos. ex. bmw="final drive" everyone else="carrier" -scheherazade |

Blown head doesn't mean you need a head. Probably just a blown head gasket. and unless there is physical damage to Vanos or cams you should be able to reuse them.

I'd be willing to bet you could get an entire used engine pretty inexpensively (under $3k, from a wrecked car) if you looked around. http://usedbmwengines.blogspot.com/2...-used-bmw.html Personally I'd wait until I knew what all was wrong with the engine before scaring myself with parts prices.

well, i took it to the dealer, but they are being lame with me because i didn't bought the car from them, i shipped it from another country, i got " engine faulty reducing power " message and they told me it could be the vanos, i told them i need the REPORT of the diagnosis scanner, they ignored me and they didnt gave me the report, and told me they need to open the engine to check wich is gonna cost me 3k USD, they are just being lame, so i though i could take it to another GARAGE, a high professional one ( probably tomorrow ).. so i was wondering that if vanos is damaged, the error code would appear on the Scanner? or they need to open the engine as the dealers said?

I am in South Africa and for the items you listed I will rather trade in for a new car. Way too expensive.
